The A6 and A7 models can be equipped with different variants of the multimedia system. To choose the correct module, you must check the "Version information" in your screen Settings:
MMI System (RMC)
- Your screen's software version starts with the letters RMC_ (Example: RMC_EU_K16158).
- It usually features a lower resolution screen (6.5 inches) with thick plastic bezels.
- Basic navigation via SD card or vehicles without factory navigation.
MMI 3G+ System (HN+ / HN+R)
- Your screen's software version starts with the letters HN+ or HN+R (Example: HN+R_EU_AU_P0900).
- High-resolution 8-inch screen and internal hard drive.
- Includes a touch panel (MMI Touch) next to the central dial to input letters and numbers.
MIB2 System (MHI2)
- Your screen's software version starts with the letters MHI2_ (Example: MHI2_ER_AU57x_K2519).
- Corresponds to Restyling (Facelift) models from 2015 onwards.
- Retains the 8-inch screen, but features standard USB ports instead of an AMI port and a much faster, modern graphical interface.
